Merry Christmas!

2011 has been a good year for us! (A SUPER busy one for sure, but definitely good! 🙂 ) Sure, we’ve had our rough patches – most of which have come since Thanksgiving. Usually when I try to recount the year, I get inspired and can write a lot. This year, I just keep remembering last year’s Christmas post. (If you do go check it out, notice how much my hair has grown this year!!! YAY!)

I think the reason that I’m at a loss for words is that this holiday has been super Emma-and-Noah-centered. This is the first year that both kids really picked up on the magic. We’ve been singing Christmas carols, talking about Santa, constantly playing with our nativity scene, and enjoying everything Polar Express related. That’s right. The Polar Express has probably been the highlight of our kids’ Christmas. I bought the book for Emma the Christmas I was pregnant with her and this year was the first year that they were interested. And that’s the understatement of the century. Their eyes light up EVERY TIME they hear the words. And the movie?! Holy goodness they love it. Hearing them sing “When Christmas Comes to Town” pretty much makes my heart explode… But one of the best moments was when Noah said that all he wanted for Christmas was a jingle bell. *melt* Thank goodness Santa was able to provide a couple of jingle bells from his sleigh at the last minute! 😉

Anyway, there’s been a lot of talk about believing and the spirit of Christmas at our house this year. I’m treasuring it all. From Emma’s wide eyes and hand over her mouth when she’s surprised and excited to Noah’s shaking his jingle bell next to my ear and asking me if I believe. God has blessed us so incredibly.

Merry Christmas!
